Snow by Matthew (Squirrel Class)

Sugar is like snow balancing on the delicate light green leaves
Candy floss is like snow balancing on the black lamp post with an immense light in the middle of it
Snow is a white soft blanket on the back garden.
Ice is like a shiny ice rink.
A snow storm is like a conductor's finger waving in the air.
Snowmen are like mankind just standing there.

My Snowy Garden by Euan (Squirrel Class)

The leaves on the trees are frozen like crispy cornflakes.
The snow on the ground is soft like fur.
The sky is grey like elephants.
The garden is white like a soft white blanket.
The snowflakes are falling down very gently like cotton wool.

Icicles by Nathan (Squirrel Class)

Icicles are thin and long
And very very strong
They grow up and down
I wish I could wear them as a crown!

Snow by Joshua (Squirrel Class)

Snow falls slowly like leaves, white covers the grass.
Snow flakes look like stars in the sky, making swirly patterns like a picture.
Children like to play in the snow, it's cold like a freezer so adults stay in the warm.
People like watching the children play in the snow, it's like watching the telly.

Snow by Lucy (Mole Class)

Snow is falling on the trees like sugar sprinkled on crunchy cornflakes.
It's as crunchy as yummy pastry on sausage rolls.
It's as cold as a ice lolly.

Blue Bracelet by Lucy (Mole Class)

Your bracelet is shiny
Like water on ice.
It clicks and it tinkles.
It's shiny-blue nice.

Snowflakes by Pippa (Mole Class)

Big sparkling snowflakes filled with joy
Dancing and prancing around a little boy.
He was playing out in the snow,
Sledging down a hill as fast as he could go.
The snowflakes landed on his head
And melted when he went home to bed.

The Smooth Snow by Madi-Jo (Squirrel Class)

The snow is smooth the children  play in the snow and build snowmen in the snow

Snow is falling by Emily (Squirrel Class)

Snow snow is falling like cotton wool dangling from the trees ,
snow falls like breadcrumbs, the lamp posts are covered with vanilla ice cream
the snow is as thick as Father Christmases beard.

Winter Wonderland by Sofia (Mole Class)

Soft, white snowflakes tumbling down
Twinkle, twinkle to the ground.
The air is cold, the sky is grey
Its another magical winters day.
My feet are freezing, my nose is red
I put my cosy, woolly hat on my head.
I make footprints in the snow
crunch! crunch! crunch! they go.
I roll a giant snowball to make a snowman
I am having so much fun in this winter wonderland.

My Winter Garden by Jacob (Fox Class)

The leaves fall like tissue paper drifting through the air
Bullrushes sway like a dolphin's tail swishing in the sea
Rain hammers on the window like my brother beating on the front door
When the snow scatters on the bushes they look like a large bowling ball
I slip on the snow as if I'm iceskating
The trees are as soft as white fur
The grass tugs at the dark sky as if it's saying good night.

Sunday 2 February 2014

Snow by Isabel (Squirrel Class)

Snow falling like sparkling sugar grains
Laying on the ground like a thick white blanket
People leaving footprints like deep moon craters
Children throwing snowballs like round tennis balls
Dogs playing and bouncing in the snow like excited skippy lambs.

Snow by Evan (Eagle Class)

I like it when it snows
I make angels with my arms and toes.
Snowmen are fun.
Built with mum.
Snow on the news
Means you never loose.
Squashed and flat under my boot
Snow crunches like a hoot!

Snow, Snow, Snow!! by Zak (Mole Class)

Snow is wet like my flannel.
Snow is squeaky like a bath toy.
Snow is sparkly like glitter
Snow is white like ice cream.
Snow falls from the sky like rain with parachutes.
Snow is cold like space.

Sydney's Snow Simile (Eagle Class)

Snow is as soft as a cotton ball.
Space is as cold as ice.
A snowman is as cute as a baby bear.
Ice is as cold as a frozen apple.

A Winter Poem by Ruby (Mole Class)

The snow was as crunchy as the crisps in my lunchbox,
The snowballs were as round as an orange,
The icicles looked like beautiful jewels hanging on my necklace,
The snowman was as white as a polar bear,
The snowflakes danced around like twirling ballerinas,
The river was frozen like a stone statue.
